Last night the Kindergarten & Pre K performed at the PTO meeting.

There were a lot of penguins, but we had a favorite...
who did awesome saying her long line.
She also curtsey'd after each song.
Her Daddy says she might have learned that from me.
Maybe.

Some of you started your Valentine celebrations on Saturday night.

Not us.

We lived an evening of seeing what it would be like with 6, yes count them, 6 kids.

Here's some of it...

There would be team potato planting in the garden.

There would be cold fun on the playground.

There would be bike riding on the patio.

There would be a team effort on harvesting one carrot.

There would be dinner being cooked for a hungry army using every pot in the house.

There would be 6 cups with lids & color coordinated straws.

There would be a line at the sink to wash your hands.

There would be a big pile of shoes and coats by the door.

There would be very chatty meals.
There would have to be a bigger table, although it was kinda nice having dinner with my hubby at our table for 2.

There would be lots of vegatables being picked around & left on the plate.

There would be LOTS of mashed potatos being eaten.

There would be a peeing in the pants during dinner.

There would be dessert being completly forgotten.

There would be a rotation for getting jammies on.

There would be your loving husband voluteering to "do the kitchen" instead of

"refereeing" in the living room.

There would be a big pallet with 6 pillows, 6 blankets, & 6 stuffed animals.

There would be a great family movie on tv.

There would be 12 (everyone has to have 2 servings) of popcorn during the movie.

There would be 6 sleeping angels, 2-3 sucking thumbs.

Rileigh 8, Hayden 5, Kinleigh 2, Haleigh 4, Lauren 6, Luke 21 months

Not my Mommy...

I didn't want this to be a sep. post because you got to "really like me" to read through all my ramblings above to get down here & not just be quick glancing the blogroll.

So, Mom, Grammy, Lacy, & Brandy - here's my new haircut.

This pic was taken after my 2 hour Sunday nap, so it's a little messy, but just thought I would show you in case it grows out before I actually see you. =)

Luke shakes his head at me to get me to shake my head & make it all fall in place.

The 1st day Lauren kept looking at me weird.

She finally said "I keep looking at you & thinking you are not my Mommy, but I know you are."

I like it. Not quite the look I was going for , but it has to be better than a ponytail EVERY day.

Randy likes it if I like it.

It makes me sassier.

Not that I really needed any help, I know.

And I think it makes me run farther.

Today I ran 4 miles.

Not really because of the hair, more inspiration from Lacy & Charity & their awesomeness winning $ in a bike race, but still.

Ok, I'm going to get under my electric blanket now & go night night.

This was our back acre 2 years ago when Luke was born. Last year with the drought, it was basically brown dirt. We're seeing lots of green bluebonnet leaves back out there. If it keeps raining through Feb. & March, we might have the sea of blue again....

We've just been living & loving the warm weather. I've set out on a goal of running 365 miles this year. Today I ran mile # 41 & 42 IN THE RAIN. So, yes, I thought that qualified as blogworthy.
This squirt looks so grown up to me in this pic & that's because she really is growing so fast.
She was washing off the patio from several weekends ago.

My new favorite past time is Pinterest. Yes I finally caved after not doing it for a long time. But I have actually been doing some cool things I find. Like the kiddos "club" box. I call it a club because, half of the christmas lights blink giving it the disco effect. That's Abbie & Kinleigh helping Luke color the walls.

Finally, I know.

There is just soooo many pics from Christmas that I get overwhelmed and don't want to mess with it, plus I caved & joined pinterest, so all my free time now goes to looking up crazy cat pictures so I can call & tell my sister about them.

So here's a few pics from this last weekend.

The electric company came & chopped down one of our big trees in the front.

Now we just have to figure out how to get it all in the back pasture for future mulching.

Yep, still have these 2 crazies to run around with.

The weather has been awesome & we've been hitting the local parks but last weekend we enjoyed our own equipment.

Of course, having some vistors to play with at home did make it more fun.

When Luke would let him, Grampy & Randy installed some lighting in the new carport. Yippee!! It works great.

We had some great family time over the holidays up in Tyler.

We got to all go on the Polar Express to the North Pole (a whole other post).

But mostly, we just hung out & enjoyed being together.

This kid LOVES his PaPa.

I've told you before, we are characters in our family.

That's adorable baby Drake inthe middle of those crazy kiddos. He didn't know what to think. He's my cousin Amia's son who is 6 months old. Luke was literally smoothering "baby" with kisses. Pretty sure he got in the car & told his mommy & daddy to never stop at that house again.

Mr. Jingles & Mr. Holly had a great stay with us this December. They even traveled to Mee Mee's house & Aunt Lacy's. They started a marshmallow fight there and got into some mischief with the eggs...

On their last night here, they made sugar angels & took a bubble bath. Lauren wrote them a Merry Christmas note & gave them a sheet to color & bring back with them next year...someone please remind me!!

The Christmas program for L's school was last week.

She did great, once we actually got there.

You see, dramatic 6 year olds sometimes get it in their head that they don't want to wear any shoes to their program even though it's 40' outside. So we almost didn't get to go at all. Thankfully Grammy was here to talk some sense in her & we made it.

Grammy & Grampy win the best grandparent award for making almost everyone of L's games, even the rained out ones! Here they are with the birthday girl on her game day. We've been paying for goals all season - $1 per goal, I upped it that night to $6 per goal. Thankfully, she only made one, but it was not for lack of trying from both her & her coach.

Girls Night this October had a "sports theme".

We always have lots of fun getting into character.
I thought & thought & then came up with being a roller derby girl.
It was awesome.

Skates with Scissors.
And yes I stayed on my skates all night,
well until my 3rd big fall.
Turns out when you hit your head, your friends get
a little more firm about you having your feet on the ground.

We played several games with ping pong balls, rubber bands, & straws.

Try to keep up, I've been pretty busy."

"Sometimes, Mommy lets us have white donuts.
White donut face is the best.
I even share some with "baby."

"I love to watch Barney, but that purple dinosaur wears me out."

"I have to do everything just like my big sister. I thought it was pretty smart of Mommy to have a white fridge. That way when I can't find my paper, just my markers, I can still let my creative juices flow!"

"I like to steer the playhouse out into waters unknown. I'm not tall enough to see through the looking glass, so I use it as a megaphone. It works for me."

"I'm totally learning "sew" much about sewing. I like to sit in Mommy's lap & help as much as possible. She chases me around when I take her pins & I laugh, so I do that a lot!"

"We seem to be on the go a lot. But it doesn't worry me, because I can be ready to go at a moments notice. Let's roll Mommy!"

"Look at this face. Mommy will do anything if I smile like this. She even shares peanut butter cups. Can you believe it? You just have to say "bite!" about 10X's before she caves.

"I can slide all by myself!"

"Did you get the picture Mommy?"

"I can do it again & again. I can even climb up the ladder all by myself. So far I haven't found anyplace I can't get into."

"Daddy gets a little concerned about me dragging "baby" around.

He says if I play cars, he can play too.

"So, that was the everyday stuff of September. Fun stuff huh? Well, it keeps me & my Mommy laughing. Hope you have a happy Thursday!"

Crazy Aunt Lacy

This morning Lauren & I traveled right down the road to Chappel Hill to support Aunt Lacy in her bike race. She rode 38 miles in the hot sun on the hilly roads & seriously, she ended it smiling! She loves the cycling and seems to enjoy pain. I don't believe I was born with that gene. But I'm mighty proud of her & all she continues to accomplish.
This bike race wasn't really that exciting to watch because you see them off at the starting line, they ride out into the country, make some loop & then (about 2 hours later) you see them cross the finish line. But we were glad we got to come & ring our bells for her &
visit before & after the race.

Kindergarten Rocks! playdate

Today we had the 1st annual
Kindergarten Rocks!
playdate. (Next year it will be 1st grade Rocks!)
It was so much fun to have sweet Sarah over after school to play.

I gave them (chocolate) rocks for their after school snack &
then we came home & painted paperweight rocks.

They each got a "goodie bag" filled with rocker goodies including

bright orange hair extensions

funky dress up head bands

flashing peace rings

guitar shaped erasers

smarties

peace sign headbands

glitter star sunglasses

"girls rock" necklaces

cool zebra striped pencils

and temp. tatoos for weekend use =)

We had a fashion show & dance contest.

kinda by accident...

aunt's aren't as neurotic as mommies about making sure we have one at all times, so it might get forgotten, and mee mee's might buy the wrong replacement one, and picky little boys decide he would just not have one than have the wrong one.

It's been about 2 weeks now & he's doing great.

Now his mouth is available to say "sissy" 700 times while she's at school.

He's very independent & wants to do, say, eat EVERYTHING we do.

Talk about a mini me. Ugh.

His new favorite word that makes me cringe is

"mine!"

But he is super sweet & lovey & sleeps good & we are soooo blessed.

Can't believe time is flying!

Our Mops group had a little field trip playdate yesterday.

We toured the police dept., fire dept. & EMS station. It was a lot of fun!

Vacation Bible School is here....
The kids will have a great time at it,

then we can send 'em to the music room.

We love learning about God,

We get to see lots of sights

and learn new things everyday.

We even get themed snacks like yummy pizza on the 1st day.

We went to a fun b-day party at

The Sweet Shoppe in Fulshear this afternoon.
This is Paty Cake the clown who was AWESOME at balloon art.

Everyone got something different - cat, puppy, ladybug, snake, flamingo, butterfly, ballerina, crazy b-day hat, tweety bird, daffy duck, queen of hearts crown, lizard - you name it, she could probably make it.

We celebrated in Tyler at Aunt Lacy & Uncle Adam's new house.

Over the 4th we went to Aunt Lacy's in Tyler.

They have an awsome zoo called Caldwell Zoo.

Beautifully landscaped & many animals in same setting, it was very neat.

But hot in the summer of course.

It was Luke's 1st trip to the zoo which I didn't even realize til we were leaving.

Did I mention it was hot?

And I was grumpy?

Everyone else had fun, I think.

I didn't take as many pics yesterday, we just enjoyed the moments.

But I did bring it to our picnic in the park. It was rather warm, but they still had fun playing.

They leave today & we're going to miss them bunches!

They had a great time.

I have several friends who do 4 kids full time (plus friends over all the time!).

I'm kinda glad my time is just for a week.

They make it look easy.

It's not.

They make it look fun.

It is sometime.

They tell me there's lots more love.

There is.

I think I understand their love for margaritas....
